Around Chicago there are new high rise office buildings sprouting up and many more planned for development.  Simultaneously, existing office inventory is actively trading hands and being recapitalized, while obsolete loft building product and other commercial property inventory is being redeveloped into unique office product to fill demand across various industries.  Enter REIA, the Real Estate Investment Association, and it’s there for “networking, information-sharing and resources for private real estate investors, lenders and developers”, we heard.  Apparently REIA is comprised of “a unique mix of some of the brightest, most visionary real estate investment entrepreneurs and professionals in the Chicagoland real estate industry”. San Diego: NAA Education Conference

June 19-22, 2013. NAA is the National Apartment Association, and it was awash with key apartment industry decision makers, both from the field and people directly involved in purchasing.  On hand were 6,300 property management buyers.  This event boasted world-class General Session speakers, (Sir Richard Branson took the leading spot), and offered more than 50 education sessions led by topic experts.  More than 380 suppliers demonstrated the latest products and services for the apartment side of the property industry.  An important component in the marketing mix, we heard, had to include personal face time with the most valuable customers. The 2013 NAA Education Conference & Exposition aimed to provide that opportunity. A presence could build trust among NAA members and keep a service or supplier company top of mind when delegates were making final purchasing decisions.  Okay, coffee then;  your apartment or my apartment?
