Las Vegas: UBTech 2012

June 11-14, 2012. UBTech (a recent name change) signifies the conference of the University Business Leadership Institute.  Initial concerns about changing the name of an established conference program proved unfounded as UBTech 2012 turned out to be a success anyway. The conference formerly known as EduComm was apparently the most successful to date, with a larger exhibit hall, more breakout sessions, and more attendees than previously.  Keynoters talked to briefs such as “Higher Education Needs Different Kinds of Minds”, “It’s Your College: Innovate or Else!”, and (in case you were wondering exactly HOW AND WHERE to innovate, “Apple, Google, Amazon and Facebook: The New Masters of the Higher Ed Universe”.  So THAT’s why Mark Zuckerberg wears a student-style hoodie….
