May 14-16, 2012. Over the course of three days, the Home Based Travel Agent Forum (billed as the largest association of home based travel agents in the world) brought together at one venue as many as 2,000 top-producing home based travel agents. Delegates were offered certified travel-related training courses, continuing education classes, panel discussions and informative seminars, including a social networking boot camp. There was a focus throughout the show on destinations — such as Costa Rica. In a purpose-built destination seminar, delegates could learn how to price different regions and hotels, and select transfer options and tours, to provide the vacationer with easy choices for a multi-region trip taking in beaches, art and culture centers, excursions… even crocodiles. Everyone knows about the Costa Rican Quetzal Birds, but not too many tourists know about the crocodiles….
