May 8-10, 2012. This is supposed to be the largest confectionery, cookie and snack trade show in North America, with over 550 exhibitors from countries all over the world. It claims to be the only show providing a “gourmet marketplace” featuring the newest premium, organic and natural products along with tasting and demonstration areas. You could take your pick from Fairtime Taffy, Whirly Pop, Unicorn Pop (including the upscale gourmet version), Blueberry Gummi Bears, Rainforest Frogs, the Big Foot (shaped like, well… a big foot), Fizzies Drink Tablets, gum candy shaped like the Kung Fu Panda and the characters from Madagascar… even Leblebi roasted chick-pea snacks from Turkey. Delegates were to be heard wandering around humming “Ain’t She Sweet”….
