Feb. 14-15, 2012. NTCA is the National Telecommunications Cooperative Association, and Broadband was the word on everyone’s lips at this show. Chief Executive Officer Shirley Bloomfield offered perspectives on NTCA’s recent advances, touching on telcos’ opportunities to impact their communities and the economy. With the presidential election later this year, Bloomfield talked about NTCA’s swing-state strategy, and encouraged members to be engaged, to advocate and to recommit to the Save Rural Broadband campaign. She highlighted progress toward finding a solution for call completion, and she announced a rural smart community initiative that is to kick off in the spring, with a summit to further explore future opportunities for rural telcos.
